Coworker with a Patron ‘Regular’

Patron: I want to check these DVDs out.

Coworker: Okay, but it looks like you have too many out now, so you’ll have to—

Patron: They’re in the Dropbox over there.

Coworker: *fishes around for awhile, but cannot find his DVDs* I’m sorry, it’ll be a minute before we find your DVDs, you’ll just have to wait until we can get the bookdrop checked in.

Patron: You want me to stand here and breathe on you until they get checked in?

Coworker: *appropriately horrified*…No

Patron: I don’t particularly want to either. Man, this is the first time you guys haven’t taken my word for it when I said I returned a DVD. Service here is going WAY down.

Ugh. You can’t make this shit up.

Ugh. We’ve had patrons like that at the library where I work.
